Flat roofs
For flat roofs on extensions and dormers, we fit felt, EPDM rubber or GRP fibreglass, laid to proper falls so water drains away. See our flat roofing page.
Where the new roof meets the old
The join between an extension roof and the existing house is where leaks most often start. The new roof has to tie in properly to the existing roof or wall, with lead flashing dressed and fixed correctly. We take as much care over this detail as over the rest of the roof.
Planning and building regulations
Many extensions need building regulations approval, and some need planning permission. That's usually arranged by you, your architect or your builder before work starts. We'll build the roof to the approved drawings, and talk to your builder or designer if anything on site needs agreeing. If the extension is on or near your boundary, the government says you must tell your neighbours about building work near or on your shared property boundary.

If a builder is putting up the walls, we can fit the roof when the structure is ready. Tell us who's doing what, and we'll fit in with the build.
